Company Leadership
Hargrove Engineering, LLC, is a established minority owned small
business enterprise whose President is Fred Hargrove, Sr. PE MBA. The
business was started in 1986 and is majority owned by Fred.
He also serves as the company’s Managing Director and Chief Engineer. He
has a Master of Science in Management and Administration (MBA) from
Hood College and a University of Cincinnati Mechanical and Electrical
Engineering Undergraduate degree.
He is in charge of Hargrove Engineering as it's
managing director. He has specific
responsibilities for our architectural, design,
engineering, construction management practice
and general contracting practice. Fred is also a
state licensed Master Plumber.
Under his leadership the company is pursing
work in the development of facilities for use in
health care, research & development,
manufacturing, government, defense,
homeland security, utilities, energy, chemical, biological, water, waste,
closed cycle burn, biofuels and transportation. He has had over twenty
seven years experience with electronic and electric systems controls and
held security clearances as needed.
Recently Hargrove Engineering was the contracted Facilities Engineer on
assignment in Iowa City with Procter and Gamble charged with facilities and
utility designs needed to bring the next generation of Health and Beauty Care
Projects on line. From 1974 through 1979 he worked for Procter & Gamble
as a Mechanical Engineer as a result of his graduation from the Procter and
Gamble Management Program & Special Project Program. During his
employment he designed water reclamation sites thru out country, designed
water reclamation plants at pharmaceutical research facilities and was a
design engineer in the Food Division, Beverages Division and Coffee
Division. Mr. Hargrove was a Procter and Gamble Diversity Trainer
In 2006 through 2007 Hargrove Engineering leased his services to Process
Plus Engineering Co as a Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for HVAC
and Facility Utility Design for Ethanol Plants and large Pharmaceutical
Plants. He provided design-build expertise for multiple HVAC systems, in
production areas, control rooms, laboratories, office areas and process
utilities which support the manufacturing of ethanol while providing Fire
Protection Design for all areas.
In 2005/6 not only did he serve as Hemisphere Engineering International’s
Project Manager for the USARIID replacement at Fort Detrick, in Frederick
Maryland where he provided project management for the BSL-4 Laboratories
in a new 750,000 sq ft research facility. He also provided commissioning
review for CDC bldg 23 BSL-3 lab additions and provided design review and
re-writing of the Fort Detrick Design Guidelines.
HBE Corporation used Hargrove Engineering as Senior Mechanical
Engineer where Mr Harrove was responsible to check all projects for
technical accuracy and completeness in the development of over 20 HBE
Design/Build hospital contracts. In this capacity he was Acting Banking Job
Captain and Critical Issues Manager while carrying out the responsibilities
associated with the role of a HBE co-manager. He was Senior Engineer that
administrated the Critical Issues List while providing relevant and timing
engineering support to field activities; reviewed all Hospital, Banks, and
Hotel projects, and; designed over 16 hospitals with a estimated cost per
project ranging from $20,000,000 to $200,000,000.
The business started in 1986 and employs Walter Hargrove formerly of the
United States Army as one of its AutoCad Designers.
Walter served in the United States Army from 1967 and separated from
service in 1988. During that service time he become disabled, but continues
to support the company operations as President and CAD operations
director.
During Walters military service his decorations, medals, badges, and
campaign ribbons included the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam
Campaign Medal, Parachutist Badge, Overseas Bars [2 awards], Vietnam
Cross of Gallantary w/Palm [Unit Award], Combat Service Medal, Driver
Badge, Expert Rifleman, Army Service Ribbon, MCO Professional
Development Ribbon, and Army Good Conduct Medal [two awards].

Robert Harris currently serves as our Disability Design and FRAME [Fashion, Arts, Music and Entertainment] Director. He has served as an Inclusion Consultant for the Cinergy Children’s Museum of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Reds Architectural Design Team, and others. He has also provided services for the Greater Cincinnati Region of the National Conference for Community and Justice [now known as “BRIDGES for a Just Community] and as a Marketing Representative for the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission in the Cincinnati/Dayton area.
